We want program participants to have a clear understanding of
how the multi-phase nomination process works.
The following is the current schedule for the 2013 awards
season. Please check back throughout the nomination process,
because these are subject to change.
The deadline for nominations is midnight on Friday,
August 23, 2013.
During this phase, Jackson Healthcare collects nomination
applications from hospital sponsors. All qualifying
applicants are considered "official nominees" at this point in the
process.
The second phase of the program immediately follows the August
application deadline and runs through mid-October.
During this phase, an advisory committee headed by the Awards
Chairman will review all applications to determine which hospital
programs will enter the second phase of the nomination process.
These programs are considered "finalists."
In early October, Jackson Healthcare will host a conference call
for nominees during which the Awards Chairman will announce the
finalists. Jackson will also publish the list of finalists here.
The deadline for finalists to submit their (optional)
impact statements/updates is midnight on Friday, December 13,
2013.
In this phase, finalists will complete an impact statement that
measures the outcomes achieved by their charitable service program.
Learn more about impact statements here.
From mid-December though January, all finalists are further
evaluated, including reference checks and other fact-finding.
The judging board will review all finalists' impact statements and
applications, then meet to select the season's winning applicants.
Winning programs are called, "Programs of Excellence."
They share in the $100,000 award pool. This is not
considered a grant. It is intended to be an investment in the
continuing operations and growth of the hospital program.
In an awards banquet following the national Hospital
Charitable Awards Conference on February 4,
2014, at the St. Regis Atlanta. Programs of Excellence are
announced and awarded.
National and local press announcements follow the event.
And an eBook is published, sharing the stories of all
Programs of Excellence.
