The Community Aid, Relief, Education and Support
(C.A.R.E.S.) Clinic is an innovative free medical clinic and
service learning experience for interprofessional students. In
addition to providing much needed health care to the uninsured
population in several counties around Charleston, S.C., the clinic,
which is fully supported by the Medical University of South
Carolina, also provides a service learning experience that has
enhanced the preclinical experience of medical, physical therapy,
pharmacy, hospital administration and physician assistant
students.
