Mission Predisan is a
Christian healthcare system, serving both the people of Catacamas,
Honduras and 49 nearby rural areas of eastern Honduras. Founded in
1986, Mission Predisan consists of nine facilities staffed by more
than 75 employees, who collectively provide nearly 40,000 patient
contacts annually. Services of Mission Predisan include: family
practice medicine, outpatient surgery, inpatient alcohol and drug
rehabilitation, physical therapy, dental care, ophthalmology,
radiology, pathology and childhood immunizations. In addition to
medical care, Mission Predisan holistically reaches out to the
communities it serves by offering scholarship programs, workforce
training, community water systems and sanitation projects, school
health programs, spiritual care and counseling, community
leadership training and reforestation projects. Jackson Healthcare
has funded several of Mission Predisan's recent brigades and plans
to participate in upcoming trips. By supporting these brigades,
Jackson and its companies are providing physicians, therapists and
nurses the opportunity to combine their medical skills with an
expression of their individual faith.
